AAA Michigan is reporting the statewide average for a gallon of gas is $2.45.
That's a jump of 15 cents from last week.
The average here in Metro Detroit is also $2.45.
That's up 14 cents from last week and 42 cents from this time last year.
According to AAA, Michigan ranks second in the nation for biggest weekly average and 10th for most expensive average daily gas price.
Gas prices generally start to climb during the month of April, as the switch is made from winter to summer blend gas.
