GENESEE COUNTY (WXYZ) — A 42-year-old teacher has been placed on leave after being arrested during a Genesee County Sheriff's Office Investigation, according to a report from ABC 12 in Flint, Michigan.
Jacob Emmendorfer, a teacher at Davison High School, was taken into custody for allegedly video recording a naked 14-year-old in a tanning booth at Tropi Tan Spa in Clio on Monday.
According to ABC 12, the teen girl was unclothed in the tanning bed when she noticed an iPhone dangling over the cubicle wall, which was separating the tanning beds.
The teen ran out of the room and police were notified and responded within minutes. Emmendorfer was in the adjacent tanning cubicle and police found him with a phone matching what the girl had described.
Emmendorfer was arrested and taken to Genesee County Jail. He was arraigned and charged with child sexually abusive activity, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime and capturing or distributing an image of an unclothed person.
He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
