Google is planning to open a self-driving technology development center in Novi, Michigan.
The announcement about the new facility was posted to the "Google Self-Driving Car Project" Google+ page around noon Wednesday.
"Many of our current partners are based here, so having a local facility will help us collaborate more easily and access Michigan's top talent in vehicle development and engineering," the post read.
The space is 53,000 square feet and will be used to "further develop and refine self-driving technology."
The team plans to move in throughout 2016, according to the post.
