With basketball in hand, Acar’Re feels right at home. But the 13-year-old foster child is hoping a loving, caring family will adopt him and join him on the court sometimes.

“I just enjoy it because I get to do exercise and burn off some energy. When I grow up I hope to be a professional athlete -- hopefully go to the NBA,” he said.

Football is another team sport he enjoys.

“I’m always playful. Well, not all the time. Most of the time,” he said with a smile.

“Caring, thoughtful, helpful are words I would use to describe me,” he added.

“I like to spend time with other people and try to make friendships with people,” Acar’Re said.

He’s really into Pokemon, and he enjoys fantasy card games including one that’s medieval.

“It’s about casting different spells, goblins, creatures,” he said.

“Acar’Re is very interested in trying and seeing new things and could be very adventurous if he has the opportunity,” said his worker.

When it comes to food, he loves calzones.

He also enjoys celebrating holidays – especially by being outside. However, he believes marking Christmas should happen inside a church.

“Acar’Re really enjoys church and hopes to be in a youth group,” said his worker.

The 8-th grader has been waiting for a forever family since May of 2016, and he is hoping to be adopted some day.

“I would want a family. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a Mom or a Dad,” he said.

“What I would look forward to having most in a family is spending time with them – watching movies, playing sports with them or something, or playing board games as a family,” he added.
