UPDATE: The judge dismissed the indecent exposure charge against Christopher Metzger before it went to the jury and the jury found Metzger not guilty of disordely conduct.
A Grosse Ile Township teacher and coach is under police investigation after allegedly being seen involved in lewd behavior while in his vehicle in a parking lot where teams were practicing.
The school sent a letter to parents on Sept. 4 regarding the incident and subsequent investigation.
According to the letter, the incident happened Aug. 30 in the off-district parking lot of the Grosse Ile Youth Recreation Association teams practice facility.

"Clearly, if substantiated, this behavior is inappropriate and violates the school district's policies, as well as the expectations we have for out educators," the letter from Superintendent Joanne C. Lelekatch read.
The teacher has since been placed on immediate administrative leave during the investigation, and is not allowed to be on school district property, or attend school district events that are both home or away. The teacher/coach is also not allowed to have contact with students, parents or stakeholders of the district.
