Grosse Pointe South High School student allegedly brandished weapon during altercation

GROSSE POINTE FARMS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Grosse Pointe South High School student allegedly brandished a firearm to another student on Wednesday, school officials said.

An altercation reportedly occurred between two students. School officials say on of the students reportedly went to a vehicle on Fisher Road and brandished the firearm. Police say it was an isolated incident involving two students.

The student who allegedly brandished the weapon has been suspended pending further investigation, school officials say.

Police have contacted the individuals involved in the altercation. School officials say police believe there is no threat to the safety of students. Grosse Pointe Farms Police will have a heightened presence at the school.
