PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — The M1 Concourse, the epicenter for all things automotive in Metro Detroit and the world’s largest private garage community, has announced that it will host a groundbreaking reveal ceremony to celebrate the start of construction for their new state-of-the-art event center and restaurant facility.
The groundbreaking reveal will be held on Tuesday, September 1 at 11 a.m. M1 Concourse is located at 1 Concourse Drive, on the northwest corner of Woodward Avenue and South Boulevard in Pontiac.
M1 Concourse’s team will to be moving forward with the development of a 28,500 square foot state-of-the-art Event Center and Restaurant facility located adjacent to the Champion Motor Speedway along Pit Lane.
The new entertainment center will be open to the public and will create a unique event and restaurant experiences in the Midwest.
The Event center will host a variety of events including vehicle launches, charitable event galas, fashion and lifestyle showcases, and significant automotive and technology expositions.
The Motorsports themed restaurant will provide one of the best dining and viewing experiences in Southeastern Michigan, organizers say.
The Restaurant will occupy two stories of the facility and feature both indoor and outdoor patio seating, two full-service bars, and an upper level deck offering stunning views of the Champion Motor Speedway. There is also a sealed cigar lounge planned for the upper level of the restaurant.
The interior event space can host up to 500 individuals.
M1 Concourse is located on the site of the former General Motors manufacturing facility in Pontiac, Michigan. Since its groundbreaking in 2015, it has become the largest Private Garage Community in the world.

The M1 Concourse Event Center & Restaurant is anticipated to open in September 2021.
