REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Groundbreaking will begin Tuesday at the site of the Western Golf and Country Club in Redford Township.
The nearly one-century-old country club was destroyed by a massive fire back in June 2018.
On the one-year anniversary of the fire, officials will break ground for the new clubhouse at 4 p.m.
The country club has hosted weddings, holiday meals and countless special events in the surrounding community. The club has nearly 400 members and also more than 100 employees.
No one was inside the building when the fire started.
