(WXYZ) — Broadway in Detroit announced the 2020-21 subscription season on Friday and the return of "Hamilton."
According to Broadway in Detroit, there will be six blockbuster Broadway productions during the subscription. They include 12-time Tony Award nominee "Ain't Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations," as well as "Disney's Frozen," "The Band's Visit," "The Cher Show" and "Mean Girls."
Broadway in Detroit said that subscribers will have a priority purchase opportunity for Hamilton's return to Detroit.
The 2020-21 Broadway In Detroit subscription season opens with "Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations," which chronicles the life and time of The Temptations, at the Detroit Opera House, July – August 2020. "Disney's Frozen" will play at the Detroit Opera House in August-September 2020.
"The Band's Visit," a 10-time Tony Award winner, will come to the Fisher Theatre in October and November. "The Cher Show" will play at the Fisher Theatre in December 2020. "Hairspray" will perform at the Fisher in February 2021, followed by "Mean Girls" in February and March.
"Hamilton" will come to the Fisher Theatre in March-April 2021.
