Right now a dad is asking for your help! He is searching for the van he says he uses to get his disabled son around.
The van was last seen at the Bel Air Shopping Center at 8 mile and Van Dyke in Detroit. The man says the stolen the van wasn't just any a van. It is how he gives his son freedom. Kirk Chidester says he is stressed and heartbroken.
While he worked to heal in the hospital, his friend used the van to stop at the Secretary of State. Thieves stole it.
It isn’t just any van. It is the van he uses to get his son out of their Hazel Park Home. Kirk’s son is this guy. Eight- year-old James. He has Down Syndrome and needs a lot of care and medical attention.
The van also is how Kirk gets himself to work to support his family.
Kirk is speaking out on 7 Action News hoping someone sees his 1997 GMC Savanna Denali this one right here-— and calls police.
Until then, he is raising money with a gofundme account to replace it. To donate visit: https://www.gofundme.com/wuvv2z3g
If you have any information on where this van may be, call Detroit Police.
