Health Dept., Wayne State team up to offer free immunization fair in Detroit

Three organizations are teaming up to offer a free immunization fair in Detroit this weekend. 

Henry Ford Health, Wayne State University and the Detroit Health Department are sponsoring the event "to prevent serious and potentially life-threatening diseases" among residents. 

Those interested can attend Tabernacle Missionary on West Grand Blvd on Sunday, August 26 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Children who are age 19 and younger and uninsured, underinsured, Medicaid eligible, American Indian or Alaskan Native are eligible to received recommended vaccines for free. 

The Detroit Health Department will be on-site to administer the immunization shots.
