FDA: Stiff Bull Coffee contains unlisted pick-me-up

A coffee promoted for improving one’s sex life has been flagged by the FDA because it contains a hidden ingredient that may cause a serious health issue.

The Food and Drug Administration found this undeclared ingredient when it examined international mail shipments.

The product is called “Stiff Bull Herbal Coffee” otherwise known as “The Relationship Saver”.  It contains the chemical desmethyl carbodenafil, which is similar to the active ingredient in the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.

With desmethyl carbodenafil not listed on the package, people can’t check to see if this ingredient interacts with medications.  And this chemical can interact with prescription drugs that contain nitrates, like nitroglycerin.

It may cause blood pressure levels to drop to dangerous levels.  Medications with nitrates are often prescribed for those with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease.

Erectile dysfunction is common, especially as you get older.  But it’s not a natural part of aging. So here are my prescriptions:

  1. Talk To Your Doctor. This could be a sign of health issues like diabetes or heart disease.
  2. Make Lifestyle Changes. Quit smoking, lose excess weight, and exercise daily.
  3. Get Counseling. Anxiety, depression, stress and other mental health concerns can cause erectile dysfunction.
  4. Medication and Surgery Options Are Available. Your doctor can explain the risks and benefits for these treatments.

Since the start of this year, Stiff Bull Herbal Coffee is the 34th product that has been found to have hidden ingredients. It’s becoming a growing trend.

Many of these products are promoted for sexual enhancement, weight loss and body building. You really need to be cautious before making purchases for these products.
