Owner of popular Roma Cafe passes away at 92

A well-known Detroiter has passed away.

An obituary posted to A.H. Peters Funeral Home's website states that Hector Sossi died peacefully on Saturday. He was 92 years old.

Sossi owned the Roma Cafe in Eastern Market. 

The restaurant has been a favorite of the city's movers and shakers for decades.

Sossi is survived by his daughter and her husband, and a granddaughter and her family. Sossi's wife of 68 years died in September of 2014. 

Visitation for Mr. Sossi will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home on Mack in Grosse Pointe Woods.
