(WXYZ) — June 14 is National Flip Flop Day and Tropical Smoothie Cafe is celebrating.
Customers who wear flip flops to any participating locations in Detroit will receive a free 16-ounce Sunshine Smoothie, a mix of mangoes, bananas, oranges and pineapples.
In addition, select cafes will offer a five perscent discount card for in-cafe donations of $5 or more for the Camp Sunshine fundraising campaign, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families in Casco, Maine. The discount cards will allow guests to receive 5 percent off their purchases for the remainder of the year.
The promotion will run between 2 to 7 p.m. on June 14.
“National Flip Flop Day combines philanthropy with the gratitude we have towards Tropical Smoothie Cafe guests,” said Rob Collins, Chief Marketing Officer for Tropical Smoothie Cafe, in a release. “We hope people not only come out in their flip flops but rally together in 2019 to give back and provide support to the children and families of Camp Sunshine."
