A High Wind Watch is in effect for Metro Detroit for Monday.
This is due to a deepening area of low pressure, which is expected to intensify even more as it moves northeast towards the Great Lakes. Wind gusts up to 50 mph or greater will be a possibility while this low is crossing over the state.
In the meantime, it could be a dangerous Easter Sunday for our friends in the South. The same storm system bringing our high winds will cause all types of severe weather from large hail to tornadoes across the southern states. A moderate risk of severe weather - which is a level 4 out of 5 is currently in place. If you have friends and family in these areas be sure to check on them to make sure they're weather aware.
