Highland Park firefighters are on a mission to raise enough money to buy the department a new ladder truck after losing one to a fire earlier this month.
The department has started a GoFundMe page to help in the efforts.
"Many ask what about insurance, insurance is working to determine what if any will be covered. But even in the event it is covered the insurance will only pay out the depreciated value of the truck which won't be enough to purchase a new one," the page reads.

Highland Park Fire Chief Kevin Coney said their engine caught fire when they were returning from a scene with downed power lines during the recent wind storm.
The blaze left the fire department without a ladder truck, which they use to rescue civilians and fight high-rise fires.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
