Police in Highland Park and Detroit are involved in a chase that ended in a crash.

It happened around 10:30 on Wednesday night on Detroit’s east side.

According to Detroit police, they started the chase because the suspect was in a stolen jeep, but then pulled out of the chase because of conditions.

Investigators say the suspect then rammed a Highland Park police officer, and when they began a chase, the suspect locked up the brakes causing the officers to slam on theirs and two Highland Park police vehicles hit each other near 7 Mile and Dequindre.

There were no serious injuries but one Highland Park police vehicle was towed from the scene.

The suspect was caught and taken into custody.
