Highland Park police are searching for a man who allegedly kidnapped a 9-month-old girl after assaulting the child's mother. The suspect is believed to be the girl's father, police say.
The infant, Jhurnee Rose Leflore, was taken by 21-year-old Lemonte Jackson.
According to police, the suspect allegedly pistol-whipped the infant's mother and stole her car.
Police are looking for a black 2016 Ford Escape with license plate EAE7397.
