Convicted felon accused of stealing from upscale home, suspected in other thefts in Macomb County.

Paul Frank is the convicted felon who police say pretended to be interested in buying a Shelby Township home, only to steal a computer while he was inside.

It happened on Halloween. The homeowner says she knew a potential buyer was going to be seeing the house with his agent and her agent that day.

When she checked her home surveillance camera, she says she saw the man stealing.

"He quickly tiptoed into the kitchen," said Christine, the homeowner. "(And) went through our media center and that's when I saw him pulling out our laptop and shoving it down his pants .. and adjusting his shirt and walking away."

Police say through their investigation, they determined the suspect is Paul Frank, someone they say was masquerading as a man with money. They say Frank was claiming to be relocating to the area and was interested in half million homes.

Police arrested Frank Wednesday night at his home in Madison Heights. He was charged with larceny today and has a long criminal history that includes drug possession and theft.

So far, he's been charged in connection with the Shelby Township case, but is suspected of doing the same thing at high-end homes in Washington Township and Harrison Township.

Frank is being held on $25,000 bond.
