Hospital officials gave an update on the condition of the officer injured in the attack at the Bishop International Airport in Flint this morning.

A doctor said Lt. Jeff Neville's wound was of "significant force...this was not a shaving nick."

He described the laceration as being 12 inches in length from the front of his neck to the back.

The recovery process is expected to take six to eight weeks.

Police say Amor Ftouhi stabbed Neville in the neck at the airport on Wednesday.

Ftouhi reportedly tried to purchase a gun during a show at the Gibraltar Trade Center in Mount Clemens. We're told he was denied because of his citizenship.

Thursday night, members of the community gathered in Flint for an interfaith prayer service for Neville.
