How much did Detroit casinos make in May 2018?

The Michigan Gaming Control Board has released revenue and gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos.

MGM, MotorCity and Greektown reported $124.6 million in combined revenue for May 2018. This is a 3.9 percent increase from last year.

Compared to May 2017:

  • MGM led with $54.3 million in monthly aggregated revenue, a 7.6 percent increase,
  • MotorCity with $41.5 million, a 2.2 percent increase
  • and Greektown with $28.8 million, only a 0.02 percent increase.

All three Detroit casinos paid more in gaming taxes this year, $10.1 million compared to $9.7 million last May.

The casinos also reported paying $14.8 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.
