If you hate running errands or just don't have the time, a new service rolling out across metro Detroit today could save you some stress.
It's called Instacart. Think grocery delivery service but with a wider variety of choices.
"The one thing we say is we offer customers a lot of choices," said Sapna Mitchell, operations manager of Instacart.
Like other grocery services, you pull up the app -- and get to work. You can also send a personal shopper to Costco, Kroger, Whole Foods, Target, Petco and more.
“I use it as a shopper, I use it as a customer… I’ve gotten orders as a customer to me within an hour, obviously it depends on the size of the order, but… it’s a quick and easy process - most customers get their products within 2 hours,” said Sapna.
Sapna says the website is quick and easy or you can use the app — which takes just a minute to download.
"We’ll search for pretzels and then we’ll be able to see how many offerings that come up — so we have different varieties, we choose how many and add that to our cart," said Sapna.
The part you don't see? After you make that order online of those pretzels, someone will scan the barcodes, grab the pretzels and your order is half-way done.
"As soon as they complete their order, we connect them with a personal shopper that will both shop and deliver the order,” she said.
Orders must be $35 or the delivery charges kick-in. Otherwise there are membership prices that are either monthly or annual.
