There has been a major crackdown on internet predators in Michigan and across the nation.
This was an unprecedented coordination between law enforcement in its effort to protect violated children.
The Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task force Took part in "Operation Broken Heart 3." It involved more than 3,000 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies from coast-to-coast.
The mission was to put away predators and promote Internet safety. It resulted in 28 arrests here in our state and more than 1,300 nationwide.
The operation targeted child pornography and predators who entice children online for sexual exploitation.
The main goal in doing this is to discourage those who are participating. The more arrests there are, the less likely the crimes are to continue.
