Another storm is in the Gulf but this time there's nothing to stop it for intensifying. A couple days ago Hurricane Marco reached Category 1 strength but a turbulent atmosphere literally took the storm apart. This scenario will not be the case with Hurricane Laura since conditions are perfect for the storm to intensify, leading to more questions regarding how strong it will get as opposed to it weakening.
The latest update from the National Hurricane Center has Laura listed as a strong Category 1 storm but it could reach Category 2 as early as Wednesday afternoon.
