Hyatt House bringing 128-room hotel to Woodward Corners in Royal Oak

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) — Woodward Corners by Beaumont announced Tuesday that Hyatt will bring a Hyatt House extended stay hotel to the corner of 13 Mile and Woodward.

The hotel will bring 128 apartment-style rooms and is expected to open in 2021.

It will be financed and developed by Pedersen Development Company in Colorado and managed my Portland, Maine-based Olympia Hotel management.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hyatt House to the neighborhood. As a good neighbor to our Royal Oak community, we’ll welcome business and leisure travelers looking for a hotel that offers an excellent array of other businesses nearby, including a grocer, restaurants and coffee shops. In addition, the location will be convenient for patients who travel to Beaumont, Royal Oak for specialized medical care and families supporting loved ones receiving treatment,” Beaumont Health Chief Operating Officer Carolyn Wilson said.

“Hyatt House Royal Oak/Beaumont will bring a new and dynamic product to the marketplace, and is a great example of our continued focus on growing premium hotels that will attract business and leisure travelers alike," Hyatt Development Director Christy Wells said in a release. "I want to offer my congratulations and thanks to everyone at Beaumont Health who collaborated with us in order to bring this development to fruition.”

Each room will offer fully-equipped kitchens and living rooms to go with the bedroom and bathroom.

There will be a complimentary morning breakfast, along with an indoor/outdoor common area.

It will include The H Bar which will be open seven days a week, plus a 24-hour gym and gathering room. The hotel will also be pet friendly and have a complimentary shuttle.
