FERNDALE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Ferndale restaurant Imperial is set to reopen in August.

The restaurant previously shut down after allegations surfaced of inappropriate conduct by the operations manager, who has since been terminated.

Sharon and Perry LaVoisne acquired their former partner's shares, making them 100 percent owners.

"We are excited to announce our reopening and can't wait to welcome back our customers to Imperial," Sharon said.

"We are passionate about Imperial being a place where everyone feels welcome to work and dine. We don't tolerate harassment, abuse or racism."

The LeVoisnes said they were "deeply upset" about the allegations and are restructuring management policies.

They have implemented mandatory sensitivity and sexual harassment training, and have retained a third-party human resources professional.
