The AARP Fraud Watch Network has launched their Scam-Tracking Map. The map lets people report and monitor scams across the country.
So, in Michigan, you can navigate around the state to read the scams people have reported nearby.
One submitted alert near Pontiac warns that someone posing as an IRS agent called them threatening to sue if they didn't call back at a random number.
There’s also a list of law enforcement alerts for the state below the map, so you can read tips on how to avoid tax scams and other consumer schemes.
According to the website, there are currently more than 3,000 active fraud reports.
