WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — First daughter and Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump came to metro Detroit on Wednesday. She toured General Motors' Global Tech Center with CEO Mary Barra.
The facility trains skilled workers and salaried manufacturing employees and just finished $2 million in upgrades last month.
Trump was in area to see those upgrades to the robotics and lab facilities. She met with both apprentices and employees.
The White House said GM is "ensuring the great American comeback is underway" and her visit was to witness it first hand.
During the tour, she took time to ask about the manufacturing process and talk with the people.
