A jury has found a Hazel Park man guilty of First Degree Premeditated Murder and Mutilation of a Dead Body in the death of his friend, Jessica White.
It only took the Oakland county jury 25 minutes to convict Jordan McClanahan Friday.
McClanahan confessed to strangling White in April 2016 inside his home in Hazel Park after the two childhood friends had been drinking. He then admitted to having sex with her dead body and cutting her fingertips off with bolt cutters.
Early on in the investigation into the disappearance of White, McClanahan said he'd been hanging out with his 21-year-old friend but claimed that he dropped her off in Detroit and never saw her again.
During a second interview with police, detectives were able to get McClanahan to admit to his crimes and reveal the horrific details of the killing.
White's last contact with her family was a text message she sent while she was at the McClanahan home, saying things with his family were awkward.
After the murder, McClanahan hid White's body in an attic storage area near his bedroom.
McClanahan will be sentenced to a mandatory life in prison on March 8.
Below are the words from a heartfelt note written by the mother of Jessica White.

We would like to thank the jury for getting it right - Thank you.
Thank you to Detective Schuller from Troy Police Department - without her time, skill and effort, I don't think we would have gotten this far.
Thank you to the prosecutor's office and to Jennifer.
