ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Romulus police busted an illegal exotic animal collection on Thursday after a tip.

According to police, the concerned citizen tip lead to a search warrant at a building in the 31000 block of Ecorse.

Inside, police found over 300 hedgehogs, six Flemish giant rabbits, three large iguanas, two kangaroos, a peacock, silver fox and a 16-foot reticulated python.

Police say they have identified the person they believe was keeping the animals, and they are looking to speak with him.

They did turn over all of the animals to people who could properly take care of them.
