King of Funk George Clinton bringing farewell tour to metro Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — The King of Funk, George Clinton, is set to stop in metro Detroit for his farewell tour with Parliament Funkadelic.

The "One Nation Under Groove Tour" kicks off after Memorial Day Weekend, with a stop at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill on Thursday, June 20 at 6 p.m.

This is the last major tour before Grammy-winning Clinton retires, according to a release.

Also performing are Fishbone, Dumpstaphunk and Miss Velvet & The Blue Wolf.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 19 at 10 a.m., with prices starting at $29.50. A limited number of lawn four-packs are available for $90.
