LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Lapeer County man is a lot richer after winning $1 million on the Michigan Lottery "The Big Spin" show.

Robert Hill, 58, won the prize after spinning the prize wheel on the show hosted by Detroit basketball champion John Salley.

He was selected to participate after entering non-winning The Big Spin tickets at MIBigSpin. It was the largest prize won on the show.

"Winning is a big deal and this is a lot of money," said Hill. "When it landed on $1 million all I could think was: 'This is unreal! Really?'"

"Winning gives me a cushion and means I can enjoy the rest of my life with my family."

He chose to get a one-time lump sum payment of about $634,500 rather than 30 annual payments.

Each player selected will spin The Big Spin wheel and have a chance to win up to $2 million. All the players who spin The Big Spin wheel are guaranteed to win at least $100,000.

Twenty players will be selected to appear on the Lottery's The Big Spin televised events, which will air shortly after evening Lottery drawings.

Players may submit non-winning The Big Spin ticket Spin Codes at www.MIBigSpin.com. By entering codes, players will earn entries for the drawings for the opportunity to appear on television and spin the big wheel.
