A large protest is underway in North Carolina, where people have taken to the streets following a police involved shooting earlier today.
Charlotte police say they were looking for a suspect with an outstanding warrant when they approached the car of a different suspect.
Officials say that person got out of the car twice with a gun. When they got out a second time, police shot and killed the suspect.
The person's identity, race and the races of the officers involved have not been released.
The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on leave, which is standard procedure.
