ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (WXYZ) — Four of 32 homes tested for lead in the water were above safe levels. So now more testing will be done in the next year.

The city will also start removing lead service lines that run underground from watermains in the street to homes and businesses.

St. Clair Shores has 25,303 water customers and city officials say they have documented over the years 656 customers with lead service lines.

People who want more information can go to a Lead Safe Open House Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Senior Activity Center, 20000 Stephens between I-94 and Little Mack.

Some people may also qualify for water filters.
