(WXYZ) — Lincoln High School in Warren closed down on Monday.

Warren police tell 7 Action News the high school closed due to a threat, and parents were asked to pick up their kids.

According to police, the threat happened on social media, and they are speaking with a suspect about the threat.

The Van Dyke Public Schools superintendent said a student saw the post on social media and alerted school officials. As a precaution, they decided to send students home while teachers and staff had the option to stay or go home, according to the superintendent.

We're told Warren police did a sweep of the high school and found no threat.

The superintendent said the school will be open Tuesday and backpacks will be screened; they will also have an increased police presence.

School officials do not believe a Lincoln High School student posted the threat.
