LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — Starting at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 21, Livonia residents should expect low water pressure and discoloration because of operational adjustments being made to the water distribution system by the city's water department, a news release states.

Properties just west of Merriman Road may be affected, officials stated Tuesday.

Work is being done in the area of Eight Mile and Newburgh roads. This is to ensure that residents are continuing to receive "clean, safe and reliable drinking water," according to the city.

If you have questions or do not have water at all, please contact the Department of Public Works Public Service Division at 734-466-2655.

If your water appears discolored or cloudy during this time, the city says to refrain from using it for an hour to help it settle. Then, flush the cold tap in utility tub, basement or bathroom for three to five minutes until it runs clear. If water is still cloudy after flushing for five minutes, stop using the ater for another hour and repeat the process.

For more information contact the Department of Public Works at 734-466-2606 or the Mayor's office at 734-466-2203.
