TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two people, a 2-year-old child and a 23-year-old mother, died in a deadly house fire in Taylor early Friday, officials say.
The fire was at a home on Jackson Street between Hayes Street and Champagne. Officials say it appears the fire may have started in the basement.
A 4-year-old girl, in the home during the fire, is still alive at Children's Hospital as of 4 a.m., according to the fire chief. Her condition is still unknown.
Neighbors tell 7 Action News a couple lived in the home with their two children, and the husband works at night and was not home during the fire.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. No foul play is suspected at this time.
