WARREN (WXYZ) — A church in Warren that has continued to help so many families during the pandemic is helping those less fortunate with everything they need for a meal on Thanksgiving.

On Tuesday, members of LAM Christian Church gave 75 families turkeys and all the fixings so they don't have to stress over not having enough or anything at all for the special holiday.

The generosity touched Maria Wilson who was able to pick up what she and her family will no doubt enjoy on Thanksgiving, during a time that has been difficult for her family.

"I think it's too good to be true," Wilson said.

"A lot of our community members, they're struggling," said Michael Harris, assistant principal for Lincoln High School where the food was organized for the families to pick up. "This is a blessing to be able to help provide this meal for them."

Jocelyn Howard, community liaison for LAM Christian Church told 7 Action News, "In spite of everything that's going on, we do realize, as a community church, that our responsibility is to our brothers and our sisters. And what better thing to do than to be out here today supporting our sisters and brothers on the south side of Warren."

Deliveries will be made to those who were unable to make it to the school Tuesday.
