Pastor Maurice L. Hardwick knows what it's like to do the wrong things. He's a former gang member, who has served time in prison.
He's seen it all and has since turned his life around. He's now the pastor of the Body of Believers Outreach Ministry.
He's known on the streets as "Pastor Mo" and says he's outraged by the continued violence in our community and what he calls the "passive" response by so many people.
The death of 13-year-old Deontae Mitchell is the latest story that has him angry, frustrated and demanding change.
"I'm past outraged! My heart is broken over this city. This is ridiculous," he says.
Pastor Mo is behind The Live In Peace movement. He's trying to get people to understand that you should use your words, not your weapons to resolve conflict.
He has been going to local schools to talk to kids. He's also getting them to sign a neighborhood oath pledging to
live in peace.
He says part of the conversation in our community must focus on addressing black on black crime.
