Local youth dancers to perform with Moscow Ballet's "Great Russian Nutcracker" at Fox Theatre

Young ballerinas dreaming of starring in a Christmas classic ballet will get their holiday wish later this month.

Dozens of local dancers auditioned for the chance to perform with the Moscow Ballet in the “Great Russian Nutcracker” at the Fox Theatre on December 18, 2016.

The young dancers, ages 7 to 17, will perform in various roles in the production.

The “Great Russian Nutcracker” includes a 60-foot growing Christmas tree, hand-painted sets from Russia, and a beautiful “Dove of Peace” comprised of 2 dancers who create a 20 foot wing-span on stage.

There will be 3 performances on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 12 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. The local student dancers perform in the 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows.
