Senator Debbie Stabenow joined us to talk about the TPP during a live webcast from the 2016 Mackinac Policy Conference. She says the Trans-Pacific Partnership isn't the right trade policy for some Michigan businesses.

"We want to export products and not jobs," Senator Stabenow said.

She spoke of issues with currency manipulation that Ford and others have brought up.

"I don't think we are seeing tough enough rules when it comes to enforcement," she said.

Senator Stabenow said she wants to make sure the U.S. has a trade deal that helps bring wages up for workers, not down in order to bring them in line with some other nations.

The senator said she couldn't see herself supporting the TPP as it is written right now.
