EASTLAKE, Ohio (WXYZ) — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake has hit northeast of Cleveland, Ohio, the U.S. Geological Survey said. According to the USGS, the earthquake hit at 10:50 a.m. EDT in Lake Erie.
Our sister station in Cleveland, WEWS, said areas near the quake include Euclid, Eastlake and Mentor, and fire departments in each city confirmed feeling a rumbling.
We also felt the shaking. We suspect that it was an earthquake but are awaiting further information. No reports of damage but getting lots of calls asking what it was.
