(WXYZ) — The faces of poverty, hunger, and homelessness are so different. It’s people who never thought they’d need help to feed their families, to put a roof over their heads, or need help to survive day to day.

But there are individuals dedicated to stepping in and lending a hand. Folks who have been making a difference in the lives of others since the pandemic began.

Our Andrea Isom takes us back to where some unbelievable acts of kindness are still taking place to this day.

Since the pandemic, the River Rouge School District has provided over 600,000 meals for the community. Hundreds of meals are given to families each week on a first-come, first-served basis.
