Man, 20, injured in shooting at Harper Woods elementary school playground

HARPER WOODS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 20-year-old man was taken to a local hospital and is listed in temporary serious condition following a shooting at Poupard Elementary School's playground Tuesday evening, police said.

The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m.

Police arrived at the school playground and all parties had fled the scene. The officers determined that the victim had been taken to a local hospital.

Police say there was a physical altercation between several men and women at the playground, which led to a man pulling out a handgun and firing several shots. The victim was hit in the lower back

No suspects are in custody at the moment. Police are investigating.
