Oakland County Sheriff's deputies removed five firearms from the home of a man who had allegedly been making threatening statements to a former employer.

Deputies responded to the United Shore Mortgage Building on E. South Blvd. in Pontiac on the report that a former employee, a 31-year-old Sterling Heights man, had been making threatening statements via text message.

The complainant told deputies the former employee had been terminated the day before and also said that earlier in the day, the former employee sent him several text messages that threatened large-scale violence.

Additionally, another employee said the former employee posted a picture of himself holding a firearm.

The former employee was arrested at an address in Sterling Heights. Deputies took five firearms out of his home, which are being held for safekeeping. He is currently lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
