HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Officials at Selfridge Air National Guard Base say two people have been taken to the hospital after crashing into the base's front gate.
Originally officials had said they tried to "bypass security force measures at the gate. Protection barriers were able to contain them." However, they now say the driver suffered a medical emergency.
The man and woman have been taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Michigan State Police are on the scene helping with the accident investigation.
