DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police have arrested a man after he was shot while trying to break into a Detroit home.
On Jan. 3 around 1:15 a.m. in the 19700 block of Goddard, a 49-year-old suspect tried to break into a home by kicking in the rear door, police say. The 58-year-old victim, who was home at the time, allegedly fired a shot through the door, striking the suspect.
As officers arrived to the scene, they saw the suspect running away but were able to apprehend him in the area of Conanct and Goddard.
The suspect was taken into custody, transported to the hospital and listed in temporary serious condition, police say.
