DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police have arrested a 40-year-old man who shot a security guard at a nightclub on Detroit's west side overnight.
Around 1:28 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the scene of a nightclub located on 14000 W. McNichols for reports of a shooting.
A 40-year-old customer was being escorted out of the establishment when he pulled out a handgun, fired shots and struck the 57-year-old security guard, police say.
The man then ran off from the club but was apprehended by police shortly after in the area of Hubbell near McNichols. He was taken into custody without incident, according to officers.
The security guard is currently listed in temp serious condition at a local hospital.
