(WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said a man was arrested and charged in a 2014 hit-and-run that severely injured a teen.

According to police, the crash happened on Sept. 28, 2014. Two teenage bicyclists were going north near Rochester Rd. and Romeo Rd. when they were struck by a gray SUV. One of the 18-year-olds was severely injured.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction unit was called to the scene to investigate. They collected a small amount of evidence, including a piece of a foglamp left behind by the vehicle.

Deputies continued investigating but couldn't identify a suspect or vehicle at the time of the incident. Investigators continued to research registration records and followed up on tips which were received.

Recently, a deputy presented evidence to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office to secure a one count warrant.
