Man asleep in his vehicle carjacked in Detroit overnight

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are investigating a carjacking that happened in Detroit overnight.

On June 13 around 3:15 a.m. in the area of 7 Mile and Meyers, the 22-year old male victim was allegedly asleep in his vehicle when an unknown suspect approached him and demanded his car, according to DPD.

Police say the victim complied, got out of the vehicle and the suspect allegedly drove away in the victim’s white 2016 Chrysler 300 with tinted windows and paint scrapping on the left side of the rear bumper.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
